Discover Villa KaRein

Blessed with a spellbinding vista of rice terraces, this dreamy bohemian hideaway reflects the purity of its emerald-green surroundings, completed with structures crafted from nature, a rooftop terrace, alfresco dining pavilion and a fabulous 14-metre pool.

Located at Cemagi, Bali

Villa KaRein is both elegant and timelessly chic in its simplicity; the all-white decor evoking purity and perfection, especially in the bedrooms, which are inspiringly light-reflective and space-enhancing. The living pavilion’s white palette is the perfect blank canvas for displaying artwork, while the ironwood decks, white pebbles, rice-stem thatched pergolas and cactus spines in the garden add texture to the sophisticated modern look.

What You’ll Love

When you ascend the spiral staircase to the rooftop terrace, you’ll be blown away (albeit not literally) by the magnificent, elevated view of the rice terraces stretching all the way to the sea. What better place to practice early morning yoga, or a session of meditation, with a refreshing breeze blowing through the rice-stem-canopy above your head.

Snooze away the afternoon in a white-crocheted hammock or a bamboo swing chair overlooking the pool. There's a reason why swaying gently in a hammock is so relaxing, and it's not just tropical breezes and piña coladas. Rocking yourself to sleep actually affects your brain waves, hastening your descent into slumber.

The focal point of the villa is undoubtedly the enticing 15-metre swimming pool, which is presided over by a deeply cushioned sunbed at its top end. Sip afternoon cocktails poolside or hang out with your friends on one of the large ironwood decks outside the three standalone bedrooms.

A dazzling swimming pool

Every day, in the late afternoon, hundreds of locals and visitors flock down to Bali’s west-coast beaches to watch the sunset. All YOU have to do is head up to the villa’s rooftop for your own private view of what will hopefully be a daily, red sky spectacle.

One-of-a-Kind Experiences

Seseh Beach (2.4km) is known for its dark sand and scenic views. It’s not safe for swimming, apart from at low tide, but it offers fun waves for experienced surfers, which can give you some power, but can also be fast and hollow and fairly challenging at times. Long lefts and shorter rights, best surfed at mid to high tide.

The dramatic and venerated sea temple of Tanah Lot (6.9km) is perched on a craggy wave-lashed rock just at the edge of the frothing white surf and glistening black shoreline. Dedicated to the sea spirits, it is probably the most photographed sight in Bali, especially in the late afternoon when its splendid profile is silhouetted against the setting sun.

Take a daytrip to Kintamani (56km) to see one of Bali’s most photographed volcanoes. Here, you can enjoy locally harvested coffee or an Indonesian buffet lunch while marvelling at the spectacular views of Mt Batur and the crescent-shaped Lake Batur, set within the gigantic caldera of an extinct volcano. Mt Batur is Bali’s second most sacred mountain after Mt Agung.
